Fire District

The Independence Fire District has partnered with Simon Kenton High School to offer high school seniors the opportunity to participate in fire and EMS training. Interns in this program will earn their National EMT license and complete basic fire training before graduating. After graduation, they will start a rotational shift to continue their training and gain practical experience. Additionally, IFD provides internships for individuals coming in from outside the program to The Kentucky Fire Academy, The NKY Fire Recruit School, and the GCTC EMT/Paramedic Program.
