The Independence Fire District currently has 39 career firefighters, 12 part-time firefighters and 2 volunteers.  All paid personnel are also Kentucky Certified EMT's.  All career personnel work a 24/48 hour schedule with the exception of the Chief and Assistant Chiefs who works Monday thru Friday from 7:00am to 3:00pm.
