The Independence Fire District currently has 39 career firefighters, 6 part-time firefighters and 1 volunteer.  All paid personnel are also certified at either the EMT or Paramedic level.  All career personnel work a 24/48 hour schedule with the exception of the Chief and Assistant Chiefs who works Monday thru Friday from 7:00am to 3:00pm.
